*Mind, Body, Spirit* = Wellness

*Mind, Body, Spirit* = Wellness
March 2026
As we enter the month of March, let us be mindful that just as the seasons change, our health habits can grow and change too. This month we will focus on refreshing our bodies, renewing our minds, and resetting our routines.
March is recognized as Sleep Awareness Month, and is a reminder that rest is not a luxury—it’s a necessity. In a world that celebrates busyness, God gently calls us to slow down, breathe, and care for the bodies He created. He designed our bodies to recharge, repair, and reset through sleep. Healthy sleep helps to boost our immune system, improves memory and focus, supports heart health, reduces stress, and helps increase energy for daily life and ministry.
Daylight savings time might not seem that big of a deal, but when we “spring forward,” we lose one hour of sleep. The impact is bigger than it seems. Even losing that one hour can disrupt the body’s natural rhythm, especially for children, older adults, and anyone with a busy schedule.
Our body runs on an internal clock called the circadian rhythm. It tells us when to wake up, when to sleep, and even when to feel hungry or alert. When the time changes, our body still thinks it’s the “old time.” We may feel tired earlier or later than usual. We may feel groggy, irritable, or unfocused for a few days. It’s similar to mild jet lag, and our body needs time to adjust. It usually takes 3–5 days for most people to fully adjust.
The easiest way to reset is to go to bed 15-20 minutes earlier for a few nights. Small adjustments help our body shift gradually instead of all at once. Limit screens before bed - Phones, tablets, and TVs give off blue light that tricks your brain into staying awake. Try to unplug 30 minutes before bedtime. When we take care of our body, we allow God to restore us from the inside out.
Praying for Mind, Body and Spiritual Wellness to you,
