August 2026 Health Tip

Mt. Zion Monthly Health Tip
*Mind, Body, Spirit* = Wellness
August 2026

Our August Tip will focus on Grief Awareness

Grief is not a weakness—it’s a natural human response to loss. Grief is a heavy burden; one that we can pray and rely on God’s grace about while we heal. Some losses we will spend our entire lives experiencing. But we do not grieve as those without hope. Psalm 34:18 tells us, “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.

Caring for Yourself Through Grief

1. Acknowledge What You Feel
Grief shows up in many forms—sadness, fatigue, irritability, forgetfulness, even physical tension. Naming what you feel is the first step toward healing.

2. Stay Connected
Isolation brings about unhealthy grief. Reach out to someone you trust, attend a support group, or simply allow others to check in on you. Healing happens in community. We do not want to let grief destroy us. If God brings you to it, He will get you through it.

3. Honor the Memory
Create a ritual: light a candle, pray, journal about your feelings and memories. Remembering is part of healing, not a step backward.

4. Know When to Seek Support
If grief feels overwhelming or persistent, talking with a counselor, pastor, or mental‑health professional can provide tools and guidance.

Grief is not something to “get over.” It’s something we learn to carry with grace, and God walks with us every step of the way.

Praying for *Mind, Body, and Spiritual* Wellness to you,
